The college started life in the local high school building, but eventually made its way to its current location in 1970. Over 3,700 students are enrolled in a program at NIACC, half of which are full-time students. The school is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.

Students can also earn several degrees online through NIACC’s distance learning program. This option is perfect for students that are not able to take traditional classes or who would rather work from the comfort of their homes.

Admissions

The school accepts all applicants that have a high school diploma or equivalent. To be admitted to the college, you must submit an application, and send in the transcripts from your high school and any post-secondary schools you attended. Students must submit ACT scores or take the Compass test. The school uses these scores to assess the education and skill levels and put students in classes that match where they are.

Single and double rooms are available and they come furnished with a bed, mattress, wardrobe, and dresser.

If you are looking for fun things to do, NIACC has intercollegiate sports for those that are interested.
